Eco Fushion Library

The Eco Fusion Library reimagines the old Ang Mo Kio Library site as a dynamic hub where nature, technology, and human interaction converge. Designed to promote environmental awareness and community connection, it offers diverse spaces for learning, creativity, and cultural exchange in a sustainable, future-ready setting.
Concept Inspiration
The design draws inspiration from the Phallus multicolor fungus, translating its stalk and skirt forms into an architectural system that blends structure, function, and environmental responsiveness. The central circular core, echoing the stalk, anchors essential programs, while four surrounding hexagonal volumes, abstracted from the fungus’ porous skirt, house flexible public functions. This radial, porous arrangement allows for natural ventilation, daylighting, and seamless integration of sustainable strategies.

Cafe
A vibrant social spot offering views over the surrounding greenery, connecting visitors through food, conversation, and relaxation across two open floors.
Library Elevator Core
The central circulation hub that unites all levels, featuring a clean, structural design that doubles as an orienting element for visitors.

Exhibition Space
A flexible, light-filled space designed for rotating displays and interactive installations, encouraging visitors to explore knowledge in immersive and engaging ways.
